Dreaming (After Scott Burton)

Dreaming (After Scott Burton) was a solo performance that bridged queer art history and queer of color critique. Staged in 2025 in the Mannerism and Baroque Hall of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires, Argentina, this two-hour work references Scott Burton’s 1969 sleeping performance Self-Work: Dream and reimagines it through a queer of color lens by centering a racialized body in a space dedicated to European art.
